SNG Garage Sale Planning & Volunteers

Hello neighbor,

Well, spring is mostly in the air, and the Seward Garage Sales are coming up!  This year the sales will be Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15.  Last year we had over 70 sales, hundreds of shoppers, and lots of sunshine. We’re hoping for a goodly amount of sales, shoppers, and sunshine again this year.  If you’re planning a sale this May, I’ve attached the registration form.  And if you’re not going to have a sale, but know a neighbor who might be, please pass along the form.

As always, we’ll be promoting the sales in the Star Tribune, on our website, and in local businesses, as well as giving Craig’s list a try (a suggestion from last year), and also encouraging those with social media skills to use them.

If you have other suggestions for promoting the sales, please let me know. In fact, if you have any suggestions for improving the sales, send me a note.  A couple thoughts from last year’s participants we’ll be putting in action are: posting a bigger ad in the Strib; giving out more maps to the sales; and getting the signs out a little earlier to help generate interest.

We can’t make this all happen without volunteers.  If you can help with any of the items below (an hour of your time!), let me know:

  • Promoting sales to your neighbors (without a print newspaper for Seward, it’s harder to get the word out to everyone)
  • Sign-making (end of April)
  • Sign delivery the week of the sale (car needed) -Sign pick up the Monday after the sale (car needed)

If you have any questions, please let me know.

All best,

Mike Rollin, Community Coordinator
