This summer, ArtiCulture faciliated a two month long community mural project in response to the tragic 2010 shooting at Seward Market. During June, a core group of eight neighbhorhood teens worked together to created five photography collage panels that responded to the question, “what is community?”. In July, the teens designed a beatiful background to be painted over the course of three incredible community painting days.On Sun. August 28th, from 3-5pm, ArtiCulture invites you to celebrate the teens’ efforts, community, and the diversity of Seward neighborhood at an unveiling event. More details to come. Learn more about project on the mural page of our website, and check out the mural albums on our Facebook page! Questions about the project, or how to become involved as a volunteer, can be directed to Deb, project coordinator, at either 612.729.5151 or email@example.com
As part of a Minneapolis community project, members of the Seward/Longfellow neighborhoods are creating a mural over the site of a 2010 triple homicide. A lot of work has gone into the planning and doing of this mural. My friend, Nick Longtin, and I are creating a short documentary in attempts to capture the creativity and altruism of this project.
