7:15  2307 Milwaukee Avenue Addition

David Heide Design Studio has submitted an application, on behalf of
property owners Carol Carrier and Greg Sales to the Minneapolis Heritage
Preservation Commission for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct
a new screen porch at the rear of the residence at 2307 Milwaukee Avenue.
The property is located within the city’s Milwaukee Avenue Historic
District. The Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission is expected to
act on the request in July.

The project entails the construction of a ground-level screen porch on the
rear elevation-at the southeast corner of the building. The porch will
connect two existing rear additions-a dining room to the north and a rear
entry to the south. The porch will not project further than the existing
additions. Most of the area where the porch will be built is currently an
at-grade terrace. The residence itself was constructed in 1981.  All
brick, roofing shingles, exterior millwork, and paint colors will match
existing conditions.

All,

Folks from the County and City Public Works departments are already planning to attend the CDC meeting on Tuesday to discuss bike lanes on 26th Ave S. I’ve encouraged them to also bring their plans for the restriping of Franklin from Minnehaha to Riverside that they plan to implement in June. I hope that we can make time on the agenda for this additional – and very time-sensitive – discussion.

Thanks,

Robin Garwood
