Arab American Cultural Institute screening Desert in the Coffeehouse, a film by Pamela Nice at 2nd Moon

From: Bruce Johansen

Happy New Year, everyone!

Please find attached a poster for what promises to be a unique and enriching event in Seward.

The Arab American Cultural Institute is screening Desert in the Coffeehouse, a film by Pamela Nice, followed by a dialogue inspired by the film. The event will take place Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 7 p.m., at 2nd Moon Coffee Cafe (2225 E. Franklin Avenue, 612-343-4255).

By allowing average Minnesotans in coffee shops across the Twin Cities to voice their opinions about the Middle East, this film brings America’s mainstream views–unedited and without embellishments–into focus and lets us wrestle with our prejudices and hopes.

Additional details are forthcoming, but please feel free to begin spreading the word. Continue reading
